Hagia Sophia Visitor Guide
Hagia Sophia is in Sultanahmet, the historic centre of Istanbul. It

Karakoy, Eminonu, Sirkeci, Gulhane, Beyazit and Aksaray.
Find the T1 Tram Line
From Kabataş, Karakoy, Eminonu or Sirkeci, board a tram travelling
toward Bağcılar.
Get Off at Sultanahmet
Sultanahmet is the nearest tram station to Hagia Sophia. Listen for
the station announcement and follow the exit signs.
Walk Across the Square
Walk for approximately five minutes. Hagia Sophia's dome and
minarets are normally visible from the tram station.
How to Get to Hagia Sophia from Taksim
The easiest public transport route from Taksim combines the F1 funicular
and the T1 tram. It usually avoids the slow road traffic between Taksim

On Foot

Can You Drive to Hagia Sophia?
Driving directly to Hagia Sophia is not recommended. Sultanahmet has
